Dear colleagues and friends:
In less than two months we will have the great pleasure to welcome you in the city of Chicago!
We will have the honor to host you as the Scientific Directors of the 7th World Congress for Endoscopic Surgery of the Skull Base and Brain. Thanks to the generous contributions of over 230 faculty members coming from 42 countries we are able to offer you a stimulating and action-packed program. We will start with 8 Keynote Lectures that will set the collegial and high standard for the Congress, covering a wide range of topics ranging in scope from history of endoscopy and skull base surgery, to advances in imaging, integration of technologies in the operating room, robotics and value based oncologic treatment. A 4-day program will follow with 112 exhilarating Round Tables comprising over 400 oral presentations, more than 200 scientific posters and oral presentations and a selection of lunch and breakfast symposia afforded by select corporate partners. Following custom, multiple corporate partners will unveil and display new technologies and surgical devices.
As a centerpiece of the congress we have programmed 21 demonstrations of different techniques performed live by two different surgical teams of international renown. A moderator will stimulate back and forth interaction among the surgical teams and the audience, especially when dealing with controversial or differing techniques (EXPECT FIREWORKS!) Another highlight of the Congress is the end-of- the-day UFC (“Ultimate Feisty Controversies”), where two prominent colleagues will debate contentious topics, presenting their arguments and outcomes in support of their viewpoints. This format will provide an in-depth discussion of pertinent topics allowing us to choose the philosophy that provides the best level of care for our patients. The audience will vote on who has provided the most conclusive argument.
We are pleased with the already substantial registration, surpassing our estimated attendance. Our most sincere thanks to the entire faculty and registrants, especially those travelling far distances, for their generous contributions in time and effort, providing the means to exchange ideas and provide state-of-the-art information to our participants. Our current global economy has presented significant strain for faculty, participants and corporate partners alike; however, the surmounting of challenges and personal sacrifices have yielded an outstanding educational activity providing an ideal medium for learning, professional advancement and networking in a collegial and pleasurable environment.
We are geared to provide you a unique, entertaining and very gratifying experience in Chicago, a city that also provides cultural, dining and entertainment options that caters to all ages and tastes.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join this gathering of the global “endoscopic community” and enjoy spring in Chicago, in the company of national and international colleagues and friends!
We look forward to see you in Chicago.
